-ArtSci Leonado Art Science Evening Rendezvous - May 25th, 2017- On May 25th, I attended the Art Science departments lecture event which contained multiple speakers discussing a variety of different topics. As a whole, having an event that contained a vast variety of different speakers from different backgrounds and with different ideas was a really fascinating way for me to gain some knowledge, as well as see how different things can connect. First to speak was Claudia Schnugg who first opened with the idea of how important collaboration is. In essence, I feel this topic is at the core of our class. Even the class name itself, Art, Science, and Technology is centering on the idea that different field perform the best and work the most efficiently when they pool their knowledge and ideas together. Extra Credit Event 2- Griffith Observatory

-Extra Credit Event 2- Griffith Observatory- 6/05/2017- A picture in front of the Griffith observatory (I am on the far right)      By far, one of the subjects I am most fascinated in is space. The possibilities for endless discoveries, creation, injinutiy, mixing of different fields and so many other reasons, space and astronomy is one of the few things I choose to spend my own time learning about, away from the classroom.  This is why a trip to the Griffith Observatory was too good to pass up.  The first thing you see when you arrive is a beautifully designed white exterior with two small brown domed roofs on the outside, and a large one in the center. This is one of the parts I was most fascinated in, as it is where the discovery takes place; the telescopes.        Week 1: Two Cultures       JP Snow’s introduction to the idea of two cultures gave me immediate flashbacks to senior year of high school.  My art teacher, Ms. Nock, from day one insisted that the faculties at our school, district, state, and country had gravely overlooked the power that art provides in many aspects of life.   Like Steven Pinker, she too would very much agree that “the parts of humanities that have been influenced by post modernism that deny that there is any such thing as human nature…” have become a major flaw in education, as well as society.   That’s why many of the projects in our art class were focused not solely on design, but how it connected to mathematics, architecture, physical sciences, and so forth.
